JULY 9, 2020 - TRIAL DAY 3

The Trial Continues With Audio and Video Evidence Presented

Trevor’s trial continued today in Moscow.  The proceedings lasted a little over 3 hours.  The court read the written testimony of a witness.  Next, the prosecution played tapes of the emergency telephone calls and there was discussion. Then the defense argued to allow the traffic camera videos and expert analysis of them.  The Judge approved the request.  The judge, attorneys, and Trevor then viewed some of the traffic camera videos.  There was apparently 59 minutes of video from 4 different cameras.  Certain portions of the tapes were viewed.  A map was provided by the defense and the attorneys explained where the cameras were located.  They also compared the location of the videos in relation to the prosecution’s documentation of the location.  An expert witness was allowed to testify regarding Trevor’s level of intoxication based on tests administered following his arrest and on police testimony.  Questions were asked regarding how the levels of intoxication were calculated, what the cognitive abilities of a person would be, and would a person remember anything following that level of intoxication.  Several questions were also asked by both sides.  The defense made several requests to allow additional expert witnesses next week and requested that a torn police uniform be delivered to the court.  The Judge was very attentive, involved, and approved many of the defense motions today.  Next hearings are on Tuesday, July 14th, at 3:00 PM, and July 16th, at 11:00 AM.  We expect another witness and several expert witnesses to testify.  Two additional days have been added to the list of trial dates in case the trial needs to go longer.  These dates and times are not confirmed yet.  We want to thank ABC News for being present again.
